Passing a wry eye over the latest Hollywood disaster movies, an insurance company has explored what types of cover are available on differing travel insurance policies.
Access America has explained the nature of different aspects of travel insurance, from emergency medical assistance to trip interruption cover.
Beth Godlin, executive vice president of the company, said: "There are several situations in which travel insurance could help passengers if they encountered dangers on a plane or other travel settings.
"While this particular situation is unlikely, it serves as a good example of when and how travel insurance and assistance can be useful", she added, in reference to the recent motion picture, Snakes on a Plane.
In recent months insurers and travel advisors have warned travellers to check the details of their single trip or annual travel cover to make sure they are covered for all activities in their desired destination.
