23 January 2008 Portugal is 'paradise' for holidays
Portugal has everything consumers could want in terms of a holiday destination, it has been reported.
James Aitkin, director of Quinta Sales, claimed that the country is a "paradise", making it a unique holiday location.
Additionally, the region is extremely accessible for holidaymakers from all over Europe, while the recently established easyJet hub also makes it easy for holidaymakers to take low-cost flights to the region.
"Thanks to the internet, people can actually work from Portugal and don't have to make too many visits back to the UK," Mr Aitkin added.
The region also has long sandy beaches while the locals are friendly and many of them speak English, he continued.
Another key facet making the country perfect for holidays is that it has the "most sunshine hours" in Europe.
Property inspection company Sunscape Properties reports that tourism in Portugal will increase by 300 per cent over the next seven years.
