08 November 2007 Schwarzenegger reiterates California's tourism credentials
The governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger has affirmed the importance of tourism in the wake of the fires that ravaged parts of the American state.
Speaking at a press conference at Sea World in San Diego, governor Schwarzenegger highlighted the vitality of California's tourism industry, insisting that it was "open for business".
He outlined that California was unique in the diversity of tourist attractions it offers, stating: "It is the only place where you can go surfing in the morning, snow skiing at lunchtime, and go golfing in the evening. I mean, where else can you do that?"
The ex-film star went on to confirm that California's infrastructure was up and running and ready to greet tourists by the thousands.
Governor Schwarzenegger ended by declaring that California had the best weather in the world and was a beautiful place in which people were encouraged to visit.
