28 January 2008 Ski resorts tipped for romance
A selection of ski resorts have been named as top environments for fostering romance by one commentator.
According to the Ski Club, the top five most romantic ski resorts are St Moritz in Switzerland, Megeve in France, Kitzbuhel in Austria, Arabba in Italy and the Swiss ski resort of Andermatt, Easier reports.
The Ski Club adds that skiing is one of the "most romantic holidays" available for holidaymakers.
Skier Tim gave the example of how he met his wife Georgie on a ski holiday in Val D'Isere.
"During our holiday we all got to know Georgie really well. She proved to be the heart and soul of the party We subsequently were married in 2001 and now have two amazing children," Tim said.
The combination of sun, snow, candlelit dinners, cosy chalets, sleigh rides and hot tubs are listed as positive romantic facets of a ski holiday.
Travelzoo recently reported that next to a fireplace at a cosy ski lodge is one of the most romantic places in which to propose marriage.
