28 December 2007 Skiers 'spend £1k on equipment'
It would appear that fashion on the ski slopes is as important as ever, after it was revealed that skiers spend over £1,000 on their snow sports equipment.
Fair Investment Company reports that according to research from Direct Line, the actual figure stands at approximately £1,200 which is spent on designer skis and clothing for the pistes.
According to Direct Line, 1.5 million Britons traveled abroad on a ski holiday last ski season.
"Rather than worrying about expensive items while you are away, make sure all your possessions are covered - especially if you are taking new Christmas presents along," James Caldwell, managing director of Fair Investment Company commented.
He added that by doing so, holidaymakers could enjoy their new year's breaks without the worry of what might happen if any of their belongings were to go astray.
The Association of British Travel Agents recently reported that January is a cheap time of year in which to travel abroad.
