10 January 2008 Skiers 'to benefit' from new Austria flight
Skiers are likely to benefit from new flights to the Austrian resort of Innsbruck from a UK regional airport.
Low-cost airline easyJet has launched its inaugural route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to the Austrian ski town.
According to easyJet, the move will give travellers in the region an "even greater choice" of holiday destinations.
David Osborne, UK general commercial manager commented: "easyJet has seen a huge increase in flights to ski and summer destinations this year, reinforcing easyJet's position as the favourite airline for independent travellers, providing convenient low-cost flights from your local airport."
Flights will run three-times weekly on a Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday and are expected to carry 10,000 passengers this winter.
Innsbruck is located between the Alps and the Tuxer Mountains and is a popular resort for snowsports enthusiasts.
