11 August 2005 Survey shows forgetful nature of travellers
Britons become so preoccupied before jetting off on their travels that as many as one million of us will forget to take our passport with us this year.
A survey from British Airways has revealed that many of us forget the travel fundamentals before going away, even though we consider ourselves seasoned travellers.
Stephanie Smith, of BA's online development team, commented: "We love travelling abroad - particularly on holiday - but it seems our minds are on much more interesting matters when we leave home for the airport."
The survey was carried out in conjunction with a new BA service designed to remind travellers of the checklist of activities they need to attend to before travel.
Apart from taking your passport, and making sure it hasn’t expired, people are reminded to print off flight details for e-tickets, pre-order foreign currency and take a mobile phone charger.
