25 November 2006 Thailand 'has much to offer' tourists
Thailand has been recommended as a country with many attractions for tourists from around the world, as a market research company publishes a report into travel and tourism in the country.
A study by Research and Markets into the country has reported that the Thailand has recovered from the reduced numbers following the tsunami that hit the country last year, with holidaymakers heading back to Phuket and other parts of Thailand.
.
It reported that with 4,000 hotels in the country, there was much competition among them, with standards being upgraded and promotional offers being launched to attract customers.
"The country still has much to offer, whether the natural beauty or tourist attractions of cultural heritages and historical sites, to attractions and theme parks," the company said.
Earlier this year, Norwich Union warned that Thailand is the number one destination for road traffic accidents, stomach upsets, lost belongings and theft.
The company urged holidaymakers to take care when abroad and to make sure they are covered before they travel.
