08 October 2007 Thailand offers new treats for tourists
The tourism authority of Thailand is attempting to attract visitors to the south-east Asian country by announcing a number of new tempting offerings for tourists.
Among the new highlights in Thailand is a number of food and drink experiences that will bring sensory delight to your trip.
Earlier this year, the al fresco restaurant Breeze opened on the 51st and 52nd floors of the State Tower skyscraper, while in Chiang Mai city the MAZE cafe offers "a serene escape from the urban hustle".
Shoppers and clubbers are also provided for with the new developments to Thailand's attraction, according to the tourism authority, with the Jungceylon shopping and entertainment complex at Patong Beach and the club Superfly.
The latter is encapsulated by "Austin Powers meets John Travolta", the tourist board has claimed.
According to the tourism authority of Thailand website, the country's name translates as "land of the free" when converted from the Prathet Thai to English.
