12 October 2007 "The Special One" to promote Algarve tourism
Ex-Chelsea Football Club manager Jose Mourinho looks set to take on a new role, in promoting the Algarve as a tourist destination.
According to the Portugal Resident, the self proclaimed "special one" is expected to take part in an official campaign to highlight the potential of the region as a destination for tourists worldwide.
The publication reports that fellow Portuguese celebrities including Fado singer Mariza, triathlon world champion Vanessa Fernandes, conductor Joana Carneiro and architect Cancio Martins have also been named as potential spokespeople for the regopn.
Mourinho won four consecutive football league titles during his tenure as Chelsea manager and is not currently managing any team.
The ex-Chelsea boss was born in the Portuguese town of Setubal and worked in the country for a period as a high school football coach, according to Mais Futebol.
