12 December 2007 Top ski resort revealed
The top ski resort in North America has been named as Whistler, by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler magazine.
Whistler was awarded the number one spot in the Best Places to Ski & Stay in North America reader survey.
The ski resort was judged on the criteria of terrain and conditions, lifts and lines, town ambience, dining, and apres-ski/activities and its Symphony Express quad chairlift even received a mention for the accessibility it provides to a large area of high-alpine ski terrain.
"Whistler remains the reigning ski resort in North America for the 11th year in a row, upholding its number one ranking on the list," Skiing magazine's Top 25 Resorts in North America list reads.
Last winter, Whistler recorded its second snowiest season in history after more than 14 metres of snow covered the resort's slopes.
As well as offering skiing and other snow-based activities in the winter, in the summer, guests can engage in aerial sightseeing and ziptrekking.
