22 October 2007 Tourism conference begins in Caribbean
Puerto Rico is hosting the 30th Caribbean Tourism Conference, it has been announced.
Taking place between October 19th and October 24th, the 30th annual Caribbean Tourism Conference and Exhibition is being held in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The theme of the conference is The Next Generation - Learning from the Past; Preparing for the Future.
"Master Classes and workshops will focus on, among other subjects, identifying, recruiting and training the brightest and best to assume leadership positions in the tourism industry," the conference website noted.
The Caribbean Tourism Conference will see travel professionals, tourism marketers, government representatives and public and private sector decision makers meet and discuss important issues relating to their trade such as the challenges facing Caribbean tourism.
According to Travel Mole, there has been an overall drop in the number of visitors to the Caribbean.
