28 December 2007 Transport links to France are "fantastic"
Holiday destinations in Europe look set to be opened up to Brits thanks to new high-speed rail links, it has been reported.
According to Rail Europe, the new links which are set to be launched in the near future, will offer customers a "realistic" alternative to air travel.
Destinations that look set to benefit from the rail links include Paris and Reims in France, Strasbourg, Zurich, locations in Germany and Madrid and Barcelona in Spain.
"There's also going to be a high speed line running from Paris all the way down to Madrid and Barcelona
That will make it really feasible to do [the journey] in a day," commented a spokesperson for Rail Europe.
She added that the high-speed network around France is "fantastic" and that it is also improving throughout Europe.
The Train a Grande Vitesse is France's high speed rail network which travels to more than 60 destinations across the country.
