31 August 2005 Travel insurance required for executives
New research has revealed that business executives are spending as many as 70 days a year abroad on business.
This equates to more than three times the amount of holiday that the average UK employee enjoys.
The survey of 200 senior executives was carried out by NOP on behalf of WebEx Communications.
The average business trip lasts 5.2 days, with British executives making 13 business flights each year.
"Business travel is a notoriously painful experience," commented WebEx's Sylvia Jensen.
More than four in ten felt business travel was a bigger hassle than house hunting, while six in ten men confess to missing their partner.
Furthermore, only eight per cent of those surveyed went further afield than their hotel room whilst away.
