12 October 2007 Travel to Tokyo in comfort on a budget
Holidaymakers looking to travel to the far east on a budget can now do so in a comfortable fashion, as Japan Airlines (JAL) intends to introduce its JAL Premium Economy flights between London and Tokyo this winter.
From December 1st, customers flying economy class but desiring higher comfort levels will be able to opt for Premium Economy - one of four cabin class options available on the airline's flights.
Other classes include JAL First Class, JAL Executive Class Season and JAL Economy Class.
"In addition to the great selection of food and drinks normally available on JAL's economy class menu, passengers in JAL Premium Economy will also be served other refreshments and snacks such as champagne, instant noodles and ice cream during their journey," JAL reveals.
The move could prove popular with flyers as it was recently reported that the majority of travellers want to enjoy comfort on long-haul flights.
A spokesperson for the Association of British Travel Agents claimed that most passengers are willing to pay a little extra to travel in comfort.
