30 November 2006 Travellers advised to drive in Euro mini-break
Holidaymakers wanting a unique mini-break to Europe who are wary of paying over the odds for their travels are being advised to take a budget flight to the continent and pick up a car abroad to move around freely.
Auto Europe is advising those wanting to avoid the hectic British high street when doing their Christmas shopping to head to Europe to purchase wares from European markets and fairs.
The company guarantees that holidaymakers will be able to book the cheapest car rental and accommodation on their trip.
"Independent travellers know that taking a low-budget flight and hiring a car at their destination gives them total freedom to plan a bespoke trip," the company reports.
In July, Prudential reported that 64 per cent of Britons lack confidence when considering driving abroad, citing confusing road signs, driving on the right side of the road, unfamiliar road layout and a lack of certainty of driving laws as reasons.
