21 November 2006 Travellers 'should book airport parking in advance'
Britons travelling abroad are being advised to book their parking space at the airport before they set off to catch their flight.
Hotel reservation website Travelrobe has reported that by using the booking service from airport-parking-manchester.co.uk, holidaymakers can save time and money when leaving their car at Gatwick, Birmingham and Manchester airports.
Mark Felix, managing director at Travelrobe, commented that travellers should consider booking airport parking and a night's accommodation to avoid having to drive to the airport on the day of travel in order to protect against the risk of erratic weather and traffic.
"Other items apart from airport parking worth considering include car hire, destination taxi service, online safe to secure your documents in case of an emergency abroad and all these can be booked from our partner site," the company reports.
Sainsbury's Bank reported that 18 per cent of claims it dealt with over the past five years were due to flight cancellation.
