16 February 2007 Travelling supporters advised to check passports
Those heading abroad to support their national team in the European Championship qualifying matches are being advised to check their passport is valid and avoid disappointment when they get to the airport.
According to the Home Office passengers should check that their passports are up to date and make sure they apply for a new one in time if necessary.
"If you do not have a valid passport you won't be able to travel," said Bernard Herdan, director of the Identity and Passport Service. "The last thing we want is for fans to miss out on some of the biggest international games of the year."
