01 December 2005 Tropical storm Epsilon heads towards Bermuda
Tropical storm Epsilon is heading towards Bermuda on the final day of what has been a record-breaking hurricane season.
Earlier this morning, Epsilon was moving across the Atlantic 760 miles east of Bermuda with sustained winds of 50 miles per hour.
Although not expected to hit Bermuda, large ocean swells that are being generated to the northwest of Epsilon will move southwards towards the island and may produce dangerous surfing conditions for the next day or two, the National Hurricane Centre advised.
Epsilon is the 26th named storm in a record-breaking hurricane season, as this year's 13 hurricanes surpassed the previous 1969 record of 12.
Earlier this week tropical storm Delta left seven people dead after it hit the Canary Islands, causing power outages and blocked roads due to rainfall and landslides.
