25 February 2008 Turkey is emerging destination for 2008
Turkey has been listed as an emerging destination for 2008 for UK holidaymakers.
According to the Telegraph, Turkey is fast usurping Greece as a holiday favourite among UK travellers thanks to the value for money it offers in terms of accommodation and prices.
This, it notes, is due to the fact that the country is not yet a part of the eurozone.
Last month, Post Office expressed concerns that new EU member countries Malta and Cyprus could see their prices rise to the dismay of UK holidaymakers following their ascension into the eurozone.
Helen Warburton, Post Office head of travel services, observed that "holidaymakers planning trips to Cyprus or Malta would be well advised to keep abreast of news about price rises".
According to the Telegraph, accommodation in Turkey is improving and region's like Bodrum are great for beach holidays.
