11 January 2008 Turkey 'top spot' in terms of Mediterranean climate
Holidaymakers should head to Turkey if they want to enjoy a "cheap Mediterranean alternative", it has been reported.
According to Paul Collins, property editor of BuyAssociation, Turkish property is likely to gain popularity among British buyers in 2008.
Mr Collins added that it was much cheaper than in other Mediterranean countries such as Cyprus or Greece and Spain or Portugal.
"There might even be the possibility of some ski properties coming up in the next couple of years," he added.
Mr Collins added that Turkey has a "great climate" while an increase in the number of low-cost flights to Turkey is likely to improve people's access to the country.
He noted that the Mediterranean coast of Turkey is sometimes known as the Turkish Riviera or the Turquoise Coast.
