13 December 2007 US destinations 'popular'
The US destinations of Florida, New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Boston are "favourites" among holidaymakers, it has been revealed.
According to lastminute.com, holidaymakers are looking to travel further afield than previously and that the weakness of the US dollar is currently making the country a popular holiday spot.
Roughly 17.2 million UK residents travelled abroad last year, according to research from the Office for National Statistics.
Looking ahead to 2008, a spokesperson for lastminute.com noted: "The weakness of the dollar makes destinations such as Florida good favourites and other US cities including New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Boston should do really well too."
She added that Britons are likely to start booking their summer 2008 holidays from January 2008.
