27 November 2007 Virgin Atlantic and Spice Girls launch naming comp
Virgin Atlantic and pop groupthe Spice Girls have launched a naming competition for the band's fans, it has been announced.
Followers of the "girl power" group will be able to help Baby, Posh, Sporty, Scary and Ginger christen a new jumbo jet in the girls' honour.
The five Spices, also known as Emma, Geri, Melanie C, Mel B and Victoria. have narrowed the list to three possible winners - Spice One, Girl Power and Spice Girl.
"We're delighted to offer one of our planes for the unique ceremony, especially since the name will be chosen by Spice Girls' fans worldwide. Whichever name wins, one thing is for sure you would be plane crazy to miss out on the opportunity to take part," commented Sir Richard Branson, president of Virgin Atlantic.
The competition winner will be able fly to the US during December to meet the band for the naming of the aircraft.
The Spice Girls are currently touring the world and are next playing at Vancouver in Canada on December 2nd.
