29 November 2007 Welcome to Scotland
Scottish officials have unveiled the country's latest tourism slogan, following six months of development.
However, the slogan has met with criticism from some political members for a lack of creativity, for the catchphrase reads "Welcome to Scotland".
Ministers had been charged with developing a vibrant new greeting for tourists to replace the previous offering which declared Scotland to be "The Best Small Country in the World".
Labour's Jackie Baillie declared herself to be "stunned" by the new slogan, according to the BBC.
"We were promised something creative, imaginative ... and I woke up this morning to Welcome to Scotland. If this is what the creative talent can bring to us and this is what SNP government is crowing about, frankly, I am astonished," she added.
The new "imaginative" slogan cost £125,000 to develop, however culture minister Linda Fabiani claimed that the project was not about being "flashy" but showing the best of Scotland.
