28 December 2006 WinterCity Festival set to hit Toronto
Travellers planning a last-minute trip abroad could be interested in the WinterCity Festival due to take place in Toronto from January 26th to February 8th 2007.
Holidaymakers can head to the 14-day festival that includes concerts, special shows and an ice gallery sponsored by American Express.
The exhibition at the gallery includes three ice installations from Vancouver's Gordon Halloran that have been inspired by the country's landscapes.
"Paintings Below Zero is an installation of boldly coloured, abstract paintings in ice - enormous in scale and yet intricate in detail - with stunning patterns created by pigments combining with the crystal structure of the ice," the city of Toronto website comments.
In July, Norwich Union reported that Canada was fourth in a list of holiday hotspots for items of baggage being lost in transit.
