03 July 2007 Wonderful, wonderful Copenhagen
Visitors to the Danish capital of Copenhagen this autumn will be able to enjoy a whirlwind trip of cultural enlightenment as the city launches this year's iteration of its annual Night of Culture.
On October 12th 2007, nearly 300 venues will be open as part of the event celebrating the culture of the city, with 50 new sites among them, including museums, galleries, churches and political buildings.
Marie Myschetzky, project manager at Wonderful Copenhagen, reports that the whole of Copenhagen is an integral part of the festival.
"We encourage all the cultural institutions and venues to show themselves in a new light," she said.
"It is a unique opportunity for Copenhageners as well as tourists to explore new and unknown sides of Copenhagen culture."
Attendees can purchase a Night of Culture pass for 75 DKK (£6.77) which grants free admission and free use of public transport in the city.
The first night of culture took place in October 1993 and the event welcomes visitors of all ages to enjoy this year's exploration of light, sound and cross-cultural themes.
