09 November 2007 XL expands Cyprus and Egypt flights
Holidaymakers will now have the opportunity to fly to Egypt from Luton airport, it has emerged.
Starting from May 23rd, XL Airways will operate a twice-weekly service to Sharm-El-Sheikh in the north African country, TravelMole reports.
Meanwhile, the airline is also to expand upon its flights to Cyprus as trips to Larnaca will operate five times a week, while Paphos will benefit from trips taking place three times per week.
Martin Lock, managing director for the airline, told the publication: "We took the decision to introduce services from London Luton to Larnaca, Paphos and Sharm El Sheikh in response to huge customer demand from the North London area."
Over the course of next summer XL Airways is looking to transport more than 30,000 passengers from Luton.
Earlier this week, Lufthansa announced it was to launch a service from Bristol to Frankfurt, operating three times per day, from March 30th next year.
