15 June 2007 easyJet to add Austria and Romania to network
Low-fares airline easyJet has announced that Austria and Romania will be added it its network this autumn, bringing the total number of countries served to 22.
Holidaymakers can book a trip from London Luton to Vienna from October 29th 2007, with services to the skiing and city break destination priced from £22.99 for a one-way flight.
"A stunning monument to the Habsburg Dynasty, Vienna is a city of immense cultural and historical heritage with its Unesco World Heritage Site centre, filled with medieval back streets and imperial squares and palaces," easyJet states.
It adds that the city, situated on the banks of the Danube river, hosts top-quality museums and palaces, while its concert halls feature performances of great classical works, including those of one-time Vienna residents, Strauss, Schubert, Mozart and Beethoven.
The airline will also be adding flights from Milan Malpensa in Italy to Bucharest Baneasa Airport in Romania from September, with the firm monitoring the market for possible additional expansion in this region.
In May 2007, easyJet carried 3,345,465 passengers on its craft, an increase of 13.8 per cent on the same month last year.
